Reviews for Bestop Fabric Replacement Upper Door Skins for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Fits and looks great. Placing them in sunlight for 10 minutes at tempature above 70 helps installation. David D
Man, it's good to look out new windows. Bought a Quadratop but held off on doors until now. They matched up, color wise (black denim), however a little tight when installing but I love them.
Work great but zippers need to be stronger as the driver side buckled after a couple weeks. I wish someone would implement some sort of tie down so they don't suck out during heavy winds.
can be irritating to install but does look good and seals well once installed
I bought this mid 2020. She stays in the garage when I don't drive her. I had to.replace these due to.the plastic breaking, yes split in half and along the sides. I wasn't even driving. I was setting in another town in snow and ice and had to drive home in the dark with the window open. For the cost they should last longer than 2 years and when protected from weather. I bought smittybuilt this time.
I recently Bought a Bestop complete top with the fabric upper windows for a 1997 TJ. The top fit well but the window fit was terrible. The shoehorn install per the instructions is not possible . Once I managed to get the fabric around the window frames the zippers were stretched so tight they wouldn’t zip up. The rubber seals were wrapped around the outside of the window because of the poor fit and would not allow the door to close and seal properly. The stitching also looked overly stressed. I have bought replacement tops from Bestop twice before and have had good luck with installation but something has changed with their manufacturing specs. Also The Velcro doesn’t line up right. If you watch the window install video on the Quadratec website don’t believe it. They leave most of it out and just show the completed install without all of the difficult process. Buyer beware!
I have all of the original OEM frames so that isn’t the issue. Tight is good but this is ridiculous tight! Something is going to tear or the zippers will break.
They look nice and the material was sturdy. But, the fit isn’t the best around the frame on my 97 TJ since the velcro doesn’t quite reach to “fasten”. Also, when it rains they’re terrible because they leak at the bottom plastic to skin seam.
