Reviews for Rugged Ridge 13321.02 Deluxe Cab Cover for 92-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ
I bought this to use both as an emergency cover and as an overnight cover when I plan to use the Jeep the next day and don't feel like putting the top back on. For those uses, it has served me well. It keeps the usual dirt and dust from overnight dew or sprinkles from making a mess inside. As a quick and easy overnight protection it's great and only takes a minute to install. Would I use it if I knew there was a real rain coming? No. Would I use it long term in place of putting the real top on? No. As other reviewers have said, it does not hold up to long term regular use. But, to be fair, I think it was more intended to be used the way I used it.
I put this cover on my 95YJ and used it one night. The next morning my interior was wet from the dew, no rain, no wind, wet from the dew. For 10 years I have been using a Bestop "All Weather" Trail Cover during the Spring and Summer months, and each trail cover would last two or three years. When it came time to replace the current one (which is back on my jeep now) I decided to save a bit of money and went with this "Deluxe Cab Cover", and as a result I just threw my money away. I am a firm believer in providing honest reviews. The only thing left to say is you may want to pass on this one.
Doesn't last. My cover fell apart in less than 6 months. The material became fragile and crumbled and then just tore.
I have one of the Rugged Ridge covers for my '94 YJ...I seriously hope they have improved the material used. It did fit as advertised, I made a minor improvement by identifying each corner with a Sharpie. I was initially unimpressed though, with it not even being a moisture barrier, but after three months it is shredded. The material has become so fragile that the lightest of movements causes a tear, like it has severely UV degraded.
If you are in the market for one of these (the idea is a sound one) pay close attention to the materials; especially to it being waterproof and if you are looking for it to be lockable.
