Reviews for Lange Originals 008-199 Door Hanger for Jeep Vehicles
.
Installed super easy but kinda bulky
I had these for my Wrangler, and I may buy them again for my Gladiator. I would say this ... these won't work for the rear doors (not well at least) if your garage is framing with 16" on center studs. My garage is/was cinder block which allowed me to mount them closer together than 16". Measure the window opening (at the top) of your rear doors and you'll start to see that 16" apart will cause the doors to sit weird. If you can, add some blocking between studs to mount them closer together.
Easy to install on wall. Small screw that holds bars together stripped out so I had to epoxy together.
Returned them. I didn't feel safe hanging the doors on them to be honest. Could maybe hang the front doors, but with the padding being as thick as it is, my rear doors would barely fit even though my studs are 16" on center. I could have also drilled 1/8" too wide, and that be the reason the rear doors wouldn't hang. Paint was chipped when I opened the packaging, then obviously when you screw through, the material flexes a little, chipping more paint.
Ordered two sets of these for front and rear doors for a 2020 JLUR. The L brackets delivered are not what is pictured and the quality and consistency is poor. The part of the L bracket that mounts on the wall is only about 6" tall, not the 12-14" pictured. With a holder sticking out about 18 inches... that is putting a lot of load on six inches when you put 150lbs doors on them. The sunk into the sheetrock and required me to use wood backing and that required new hardware from Lowes. The screws that hold the L bracket together (not on the wall, the L bracket is two pieces) are screwed in from the top if you have your brackets pointed down as in the ad. I had to cut 11 inches of pool noodle to cover the screws and the rest of the L bracket because the rubber cover only covers the outer ends. Had I not done this, the door edge would be sitting on exposed screws or metal bracket. And given the rear doors on a JL only have a partial window you will need to mount them 12" apart so you will not be on studs for one side. This required additional wood and new screw hardware (as I mentioned above) because that screws supplied are the minimum length for the brackets if going against just sheetrock. Additionally. The rubber covering slightly ripped the second time we hung the doors on them. And the screw holes through the brackets were inconsistently drilled, varying by as much as 3/8" in distance apart. This required me to redrill pilot holes because of course it was too much to assume the hardware would be consistent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. THE QUALITY IS POOR AND YOU DO NOT RECEIVED WHAT IS PICTURED IN THE AD.
