Reviews for Old Man Emu Suspension Systems for 84-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ
I bought the front coils separately and they work/fit as advertised, 1.5 lift after settle WITH "stock" coil spring isolators (Crown and Moog makes them). One thing, I have new Dorman rear leafs ... and after they settled I have about a one inch lift in the back ... now, with this package, your rear end lift is going to be over 2", the front under 2" ... I believe its better to have the front a bit higher than the rear if not perfect all around, a castor thing.
Purchased this kit 1 year ago in an attempt to get about 2.5in of lift. Removed the longest leaf from the rear pack and added a 3/4in spacer to the front. Had some driveline vibration but was planning on a SYE anyway. Needed to purchase bushings and Ubolts. A new track bar was not nessesary and at full droop, the factory brake lines are long enough.
Rides like a pillow but the springs don't collapse with a 2500lb trailer.

in 2013, after twelve years with a heavy speaker box above the rear axle, the rear leaf springs started to sag. This new lift kit allowed me to add 30" tires (B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO LT255/70R16/D 115 S).
Everything felt good. Had to buy front spring spacers to level it off.
Only issue is the shocks wore out in a year.
Looking to replace with bilstein 5160s. Does anyone know the collapsed and extended measurements on the OME shocks?
Overall this lift kit is decent. Rides smooth and isn’t too stiff. You’ll need to remove the second leaf from the top and add 3/4 coil spacer to front as well to get the lift even. Adjustable track bar will be beneficial. Kit doesn’t include ubolts & bushings which is bs. The kit should also include the 60053L & 60052L shocks.
As previously mentioned, quality of components is great but not a complete kit. I installed on a 2001 XJ and also needed a track bar, sway bar disconnects, rear shackles, bushings and a 3/4 inch front coil spacers to level it out (one leaf removed from the rear).
Quality of components is excellent but be advised this is not a complete kit. You're going to also need the leaf bushings (pictured but not included). You will also need an adjustable track bar with this and most likely new rear U bolts and shackles. Good idea to upgrade the control arms too while you're in there. If you're looking at this for a complete suspension upgrade be prepared to spend another $500 or more for the other parts.
Quality product. Great ride quality. Note: Front coil spacer and or rear leaf removal needed to level front. OME 60052 & 60053 shocks are approximately 1" too short (extended length) at full droop. In my opinion the kit should come with the 60052L & 60053L shocks.
