It smoothed out my idle. It also improved my mpg slightly. I would recommend for a more smooth engine not for the improved mpg. Install was easy and straightforward. Overall is was a happy edition to my Jeep that I have owned for 15 plus years and is a great item for a old Jeep.

I received this kit for part of my major tune-up on my 94 YJ. While installing it I had an issue with the Dist. Cap. Just got off the Quadratec Customer Service Chat and a new cap and rotor set are on their way with a return shipping label for the current one I have. All the other parts in this kit are as described and performance has improved. Quadratec's customer service is awesome. Thank you Ross in Customer Service.

This here is the ultimate tune up for your 4.0 YJ.

I have a '93 with 171k on the 4.0 motor. Best things I noticed on performance immediately were
-quicker starts
-much quicker cold starts
-cooler running temps
-brought idle rpms back up
-smoother idle
-smoother power delivery
-more power at less RPMs!!!
-exhaust smells much much more clean and thoroughly burned
-better mileage

Quality quality quality kit here. The wires are bombproof, like just amazing, and the coil bolted right in place of the factory, hooked right up to the harness, and the distributor cap is top notch.

Previous owner had installed a high output coil (i think accell) with stock wires and the E3 plugs. It was lagging in performance, so I upgraded the ignition system to this and wow it really works, as or better than described. Those E3s had lots of deterioration. For this upgrade I went with NGK V Power plugs.

Use a proper gap tool, not the wheel, an actual wire gauge gap tool to properly gap your plugs with this, I ran .060+ and its running fantastic.

This YJ lives and runs up at altitude, 9600 feet in Breckenridge, CO so up here we can use any power we can get with the thin air. This ignition system is top notch, and we get cold up here at night, so cold starts can be tough. My Jeep fires right up now. No hesitation.

That guy below Danny M, probably did something wrong on install. This kit is flawless. Its very possible that he could have not routed the wires correctly; defintely be sure to mark the cap with marker as to where the wires run to. There is a little black knob/button thing on top of the cap, that goes towards the back of the block.
The wires are labeled for each cylinder and are like I said, beef and bombproof. Kit even comes with dielectric grease.

The coil works as described and is ultra reliable, and has noticeably improved performance and drive quality of my 93 YJ. Great affordable performance upgrade.

Everything in this kit is high quality. The Cap was a snug fit with no room to move around. The wires look amazing and having the cylinder number on each wire is a huge convince.

This kit got rid of my random misfire and helped gain power.

I will definitely be purchasing their products for my other vehicles.

I just picked my 4.0 91 YJ up from the shop after installing this complete kit I had to have a wrecker deliver the Jeep to a shop as it was misfiring bad enough that I didn’t want to drive it. The distributor cap and rotor had to be replaced as the one that came with it was seriously cheap. The wires and plugs, I will need to drive it more before determining if it is junk as well. $174.00 for the kit and shop cost has me at near $500.00 wasted. Please folks, don’t waste your money on this system.
