The B&M short throw shifter makes a huge difference in the drivability of my TJ. I really appreciate the crisp, solid, positive engagement with this shifter. The stock shifter (20 years old), was pretty sloppy and of course standard long throw.
Installation was simple and the instructions were clear and complete. Shipping was fast and delivery was on time. I wish I would’ve done this sooner.
Anyone with a 4.0 five speed TJ should give this shifter a try. No disappointments.

Works great, but it doesn’t have the bend in the shifter handle as pictured. It is a straight shaft. This makes the shifter handle offset to the passenger side. You have to reach farther over to shift than with the stock shifter. My stock shifter was toast so it was needed. I have long arms so it will work fine for me, just need to get used to the different angle. My wife will have problems if she tries to drive it as she is vertically challenged.
