Reviews for JKS Manufacturing J-Venture 2.5in Suspension System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Build quality, attention to detail
Purchased this for my wife's JKU. got it installed over the course of a week as I had time. Rear was pretty simple, I thought it was odd though that I had to drill new holes for the rear sway bar links. If I were to do it again I would probably buy longer links. The front was a little more challenging but I also added the geometry correction brackets and would highly recommend buying these as well to avoid modifying the stock axle mounting points. A couple of the bolts included were the wrong length, but that was a minor issue.
My wife loves the new look with 35" tires and says it drives better now too.
this kit was easy to install and comes with everything but the rear track bar and sway bars. I had a severe death wobble before the install. after the install the jeep drives better than it did with the factory suspension. I recommend this kit even for the DIY guys .shipping was fast even though it took a few days for order to show up on my account, it was delivered in 5 days
The bolt kit for Rubicon is included so you don't have to use the quick connect mounting kit. The caster adjustment was a little tricky but you can find videos that show you exactly what to do. instructions are easy to follow and included in the box. If you need to talk to a representative, they are somewhat knowledgeable but you will be on hold for an hour, be patient
I purchased the 2.5" lift for my 2door JK. I am a dealer tech and have installed several lift kits from multiple brands. Now it was time to lift my own Jeep. Usually I recommend AEV but it was out of stock. I wanted a kit with dual rate springs. I came across this kit and read some reviews and watched some videos. It appeared very comparable to the AEV kit with the added bonus of the super beefy JKS Adjustable front track bar (which I was going to buy anyway!) AND the awesome JKS adjustable/removable sway bar links. The FOX shocks look and ride great! I did pair the kit with the AEV front geometry correction brackets. The install was straight forward. The only CON I have is drilling a new hole for the rear sway bar links was not my preferred option. This will now be my go-to lift kit recommendation.
I installed this lift my self in the driveway when my 16 jk had 25,000 miles and now has 55,000 miles on it. I'm running 285/70/17s, 1" wheel spacers on factory wheels and the control arm lowering brackets. The lift has been great, mostly highway driving but with a couple of trips to Colorado and Moab. I recommend this kit to anyone.
I like this lift. I should of measured but I'm sure it's more like a 3" lift. It went on a 2017 JKUR hardtop. I put 35" Falken Wildpeaks on with 4.75" back space wheels and the rear tires just kiss the fenders, I mean just barely.
Just an FYI. The JKS brake line extensions are problematic on the rear as they put the junction of the hard line and flex line way too close to the swaybar. I figured I was okay, but last week I broke the hard line at the junction. Lucky for me it was at the end of a semi difficult trail and I had other people with me to give me a ride home to get a truck to tow it home. I strongly suggest you get some extended braided lines when you install this. I used the Crown lines that are good for up to 4" lift. So far they look like a good fix.
I'm pleased with the outcome of my lift, it's a little more than 2.5" but may settle in time. I added the JKS geometry corrections brackets for the front control arms and the JKS adjustable rear track-bar. As I didn't drive it without those additions I can't comments as to how they improved the setup but it certainly drives well. I put the lift on in my driveway with a floor jack and jack stands, I have a small compressor and impact gun that really helped. I started mid-day and because of distractions didn't finish until mid-day the next day, easily can be done in a full day, 1/2 day with a two-post lift, may be just a few hours if you've done it before and don't have 'significant others' to deal with! I've got a farm background so am a fairly advanced amateur wrench w lots of equipment and truck experience, could probably get a job doing it if I wanted but no certifications, schooling, etc. but if you know one end of a wrench from another you can install this kit. The only mods needed were some grinding on one of the front control arm correction brackets, not that big a deal. I'm running 2.5" wheel spacers and stock wheels, 315R70 tires at about 34.5" tall, with no rubbing or drama. I highly recommend JKS lift kits.
Just the right height to fit 315/70 tires (35's)
Opted for the jks fixed lower front and rear control arms. No alignment needed. Drives like it did when it was brand new
Waited 3 weeks for this to come. Super excited to get it under the Jeep. Extremely well made and professionally packaged!
I have never written a review, I am a journey level heavy mechanicwith 30 years experience, I just built my fourth JK and have lifted many trucks , the first three JK were AEV lifts, my newest jk I went with JKS 2.5 “with added rear adjustable track bar, drop brackets for lower control arms, and fox steering stabilzer to match kit shocks. This kit is off the chart superior to the aev in quality design and ride quality!!!!!!! First day driving on street it rode and handle incredible felt much more stable and heavy duty than my prior builds, with the adjustable track arms I dialed in the axle centers with ease and these are stout! The adjustable removable sway bar brackets let you dial in the sway bar as well, far superior than the AEV rinks dink relocation bracket. The fox shocks and springs ride way better than the AEV bilstiens! I have ordered a 115 lb front bumper and 50lb winch did the same to prior jeeps and the front dropped over 1.5” called AEV and they said the springs were built anticipating the extra weight? BS I eventually added 1” spacers to bring the jeep back up! I am 200lbs and have put my weight on new lift front end barely moved but will know for sure when I get the bumper installed I have taken the new lift on mild off road but will put through the test after winch installed and I get my mud tires! For now JKS all day long over any other lift I have seen for a combo daily and weekend warrior!!
