Reviews for Smittybilt 7619 XRC Foot Pegs for 07-23 Jeep Wrangler JK, JL & Gladiator JT
These work very well. My slight gripe is the cushion on the inside that protects the paint.
As expected
These are really cool. My wife and I love using them when the doors are off. The downside though. The rubber pads that sit up against the painted hinges blew off on a windy day on the interstate. Will be an easy fix with some rubber tubing and epoxy from Lowe’s but it’s just the thought that I shouldn’t have to. Not worth the trouble to return them since it’ll be an easy fix. My tip if you buy these, take the rubber bumpers off and reinstall with epoxy. You’ll be happy if you do.
Comfortable, strong and good looking, but with an obviously known but disregarded design flaw... The flimsy little rubber piece that you have to squeeze on yourself, which is meant to 'minimize' paint chips, literally fell off on my passenger side during the first ride up the highway. When I got to where I was going, it swung in (they swing very loosely no matter how tight) and immediately dinged the paint on the door hinge. Aaaand then it swung out on the way home and caused a small dinged the paint on the opposite side of the hinge.(Really??) All sides that could have any contact should be covered / surrounded by some type of rubber or foam, and it should be GLUED on by the manufacturer; not a cheap piece of sliced tubing for the customer to wedge on. Disappointed.
OK at best, but I stopped using them. They barely fit and the bolts require 2 ratchets to set them in place. They're great if you install them once at the beginning of the season and then remove them months later, but not great for those that want quick swap outs on the weekend. I'm currently shopping for replacements
These never get tight. They swing around when your fort isn't on them.
