Reviews for Smittybilt 7618 6" Round Hinge Trail Mirrors for 97-18 Jeep Wrangler TJ, JK & Unlimited
My second set of these, bought um for my dads Jeep.
Mine have taken a beating for the last 3 years and the only problem is, over time and use the plastic knob on top of the mounting bolt breaks. Keep mine on all year long with anti-theft screws. No issues.
These work fantastic. I like that i can see my passenger side mirror a lot better, they dont fold in at highway speeds, and they have a lot less vibration than the last set i had purchased.
These Mirrors are OK. They vibrate when going down the road a little. Rear vision is also a little more limited than with the factory mirrors. They do leave a little room for improvement.
I replaced them with the more expensive Quadratec Mirrors that look like factory mirrors that mount in the Upper Door Hinge holes. I am totally happy with the more expensive, better quality mirrors. NOTE: I have kept these mirrors incase I end up buying a Roxor.
Although I really like the look of these on the CJ, they move at the arm adjustment frequently and using the set bolt is not as effective as needed.
Way too long, maybe if I was pulling a fifth wheel travel trailer? Just cut them down and drilled some new holes, work good.
Even though I tighten the bolt with a wrench as tight as I can, the mirrors still tend to fold in at 60 MPH.
Spring and fall condensation accumulates in between mirror and outer cover then pools in between bottom of mirror and cover then at night when temp drops it freezes then snap they crack
