Reviews for Teraflex 1853900 Heavy Duty Tie Rod & Drag Link Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Installation was pretty simple and feels WAY firmer going down the road than stock parts did when Jeep was new. will worth the money as well as the beef for bigger tires later
great product, perfect fit on 2008 jk . I had 15" cragars on and was hoping to squeeze the tie rod end in but they are too beefy (not a bad thing) had to switch back to the stock wheels, definitely need 17" rims for clearance on the ball joints. I am going to see if I can fit 16" rims over the tie rod ends but I do not think there will be enough clearance especially not with and stick on balance weights. all things aside 5 stars. also if you upgrade your steering stabilizer you should relocate it to the track bar mount with the bolt they include otherwise you will need to angle the stabilizer down and bolt at an angle on the tie rod
I have a 2011 JKU w/35' Nitto's wrapped around 18'rims on a 3" Teraflex Lift. These two arms are much stronger that OEM. Before I would hit a bump on the freeway to my favourite camping spot and the wheel would wobble a little and then calm down. With these there is NO wobble what so ever. Steering feels much tighter and stronger now. Took a little over 1.5 hours to install from start to finish. Very simple garage project. Just remember to get alignment immediately after install. Mine was off a little even though all measurements were exactly the same on old and new parts.
I have a 2015 JKU with a 2.5" lift, sitting on 17" stock rims and 35's. With the stock equipment, my drive was "flighty", even worse when it was windy. Traveling across the Bay Bridge on my way out to Ocean City on the weekends was scary. I ordered this steering kit in hopes that it would tighten up my ride while at high speeds on the highway. This kit delivered BIG TIME. I know it's expensive...It'll also cost you another $500 or so to have it professionally installed. But I'm telling you it was well worth the costs. I have control over my Jeep and I'm not constantly correcting while driving. Teraflex has a great reputation and they lived up to it. If you're doing a lot of traveling on high speed highways, this is a must have!
Better option than just the stock replacement!!
Instructions need to include warning of moving pitman arm during install. LOCK IT DOWN BEFORE YOU REMOVE YOUR OLD ONE...otherwise GREAT product, easy install, looks super sharp with the skyjacker dual steering stabilizer :)
Probably wouldn’t recommend. The set screws in the ball joints and a pain. Trying to get some of the set screws back into the ball joints are near impossible. I spent an hour trying to get one set screw in a ball joint( a very easily accessible joint) and still managed to cross thread the screw. Happened to two joints even though I was meticulous about its correct placement.
