I used truck bed liner on them and then silicone caulk them to try and prevent erosion. 3 years later with outdoor parking, they look brand new.
I like this mounting height for off road lights and aiming them a bit more to the outside so I know my options for picking a line at night.

The mounting brackets are made very strong. The size was perfect for my 01' TJ to hold my 3 inch Spot Lights. Not over powering and not in the way of your vision. Made the Mod very easy.
