Reviews for OMIX 17401.21 Black Aluminum Valve Cover for 81-86 Jeep CJ with 4.2L
Clean look
Looks
Much better than cheep plastic it came with
Fit perfectly on my 1982 258, easy install, looks good and no leaks. Ditch the cork gasket and get a black rubber Fel-Pro. Clean the head really well and follow the torque specs and you should be good to go. The thing i was most worried about was tapping the holes on the drivers side, but the bottoming tap cut through the head like butter (it ended up being the easiest part of the whole swap).
perfect fit, looks great
Worked great also looks good had to tap two holes in the head easy install
pretty well built, Paint job was kinda funky, but the real issue is that not all holes lined up perfectly and proved to be a real pain to install
I recently purchased the OMIX aluminum valve cover for a 1982 CJ5 with 258. It required tapping the 5 holes on the side, which was a relatively simple job. However the cover did not line with the 2 stock holes; 1 front and 1 rear. I used the vehicle fit guide and the cover I ordered was listed as a fit for my vehicle.
