Reviews for Quadratec Premium 2" Receiver Hitch with Wiring Kit & Jeep Logo Plug for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Everything you need for install and s great price.
Great product - high quality. Received item within a week of ordering. Installation was straight forward. I installed on my 2006 Jeep Rubicon with no issue.
It took a couple months to fulfill my order but I can’t complain in the least because for the money, the quality of the hitch and the rest of the components can’t be beat. Yes, the 2 bolts that go through the rear crossmember are a total pain to fish and tighten…. but patience and a little ingenuity are the keys. If you aren’t even a little mechanically inclined then you probably shouldn’t own a TJ in the first place, amiright?
Install took me a little over an hour and the fit and finish is 100% spot on. If you want to tow (properly) with your TJ, this is the hitch package to buy.
I own a 2001 tj. Part arrived undamaged and in good time and nothing missing. And yes the two inside bolts are a little tricky to install. But I'm a mechanic so I deal with a little tricky everyday. It does help to have smaller fingers for the two inside bolts and I do so I found the installation easy. I also had a friend help. He did one side I did the other. The tab on the the left that holds the trailer wire 4-way plug is great. Not all hitches have that. My wife took the jeep and 5X8 trailer to Lowes and bought 40 bags of mulch while i was at work PRICELESS Thanks QT.
Great product. I have a 97 TJ and it fits perfectly. My only issue was the dent in my back bumper, it made putting two bolts on very very very difficult, but with a total of 4 hands, the hitch was installed very easily. Recommend to anyone wanting a nice strong hitch
Towed an off-road utility trailer like a dream. As for the install, it was very straightforward and pretty simple, took 1 hour to install. I can see what other reviewers are talking about in reference to the rear crossmember bolts being hard to get to but if you just go at it at the right angle it’s pretty easy. When doing those two tricky ones, I recommend holding the bolt underneath and tightening them from above with the correct wrench between the crossmember and the bumper.
Looks good under there. But seriously what a pain to get those middle bolts in, if they were 1/2” shorter starting the nut would be a lot easier. Wiring harness was a snap too. I installed the 4way holder upside down, mounting as instructed looked like it would be ripped off by a rock off-roading.
Looks great
Excellent hitch. It all went together fairly smoothly. Just make sure you have plenty of patience because some of the bolts are difficult to install. Nothing do to with the hitch, though. Just how the Jeep frame is designed.
Everything was there…came a day early…only complaint is the placement of 2 holes which took me forever to get the washers an nuts on…but other than that it's perfect
