Reviews for Smittybilt 76807LT XRC Gen2 Front Bumper for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Looks great.
Very nice bumper in comparison to other bumpers in this class. The Smittybilt bumper is superior in fit, quality and paint finish. Mounting was straight forward and has held up well for several off-road seasons. No signs of rust and the finish is holding up in the salty Michigan winters. My other brand bumpers I had (EAG and Rough Country) have rusted every year, but the Smittybilt is hold up well. The mounting holes for the lights and winch all were located well. Highly recommend this bumper.
Installation was super easy. I have a lot more front end clearance than with the SRC Carbine bumper. Agree with another review, attach your winch before installing the bumper. Instructions are pretty clear, just remember there are 4 bolts that attached to the frame. four are welded on the bumper, and there are four additional that are tapped on the bumper.
I am vary happy with the purchase and craftsmanship looks like it will last a long time. install was vary simple and i did it solo. Forewarning it is vary heavy so only do it solo if your confident with your skill. Simple bolt up and comes with everything you'll need to install and also retains your factory lights if like me you haven't upgraded yet. I do not have a winch as of yet but it is recommended you install that first. The working room gets pretty tight when its already on the car. The only con i have for this bumper is the extra shielding look is actually plastic plates. Honestly the looks and the feel of this bumper is sturdy and its not going to be totaled on the first bump.
This bumper has been on my jeep for 2+ years and still looks great. I have been very happy with it.
I love the look and quality of the bumper. Cant wait to get my winch and some lights for it.
Love it! I took off my plastic pieces and rattle canned them with Mopar body match I randomly had. I also changed the screws to stainless steel before putting them back on. Outstanding quality!! Fit my 2017 perfectly. Now I just need the rear.
Very nice looking bumper. Well made and fits well. When they say drill the holes out to half inch, I would go 5/8. all 6 mounting holes lined up nicely except for one of the 1/2 inch holes, it was just a little off. I also installed the smittybilt winch. i would recommend installing the fog lights, then the fairlead, then the winch, then installing the bumper. ANd make no mistake about it, it's a heavy one! close to 200 pounds with all the accessories. I had already put a lift kit with HD coils springs and shocks so i only sagged about 1/2". if you tried this with stock springs you would not be happy. Very satisfied with the way it looks.
Very sturdy bumper. I wanted steel bumpers but they all rusted on other Jeeps and I didn’t want to paint them every year. Then I saw the these with a five year fish warranty and a lifetime structure warranty I got them both front and rear. They cost more than the average bumpers but are way better built. Also you’re gonna need some help on the install. They’re both over 120lbs. I ran my rear bumper leds to my rough country switch pod so I can operate when needed.
The bumper looks great!!! Very well built, did the install by myself. The only advice I can give is when drilling your outer holes on the frame make them oblong, this will give you more room to line your holes up. I highly suggest getting the recommended Smitty Built wench, it really completes the bumper upgrade! Very well packaged for shipment.
