Installation was fine as described but I was hoping the sound would be better, highs are good but the bass just "pops". I've got an older deck so will replace that next and hope for better results.

ordered these last week and put them in today into my 2002 TJ. instructions are straight forward and everything fit. One issue - the connections didn't match up. So these were not compatible from a plug and play standpoint. Had to cut wires and directly connect. Other than that they sound good with an old unit. Will update once a modern base unit has been installed to properly tune and drive the speakers. Deducting two stars for making me do that type of work.

I installed these yesterday only find out that the wiring harness provided didn't fit my jeep's wiring harness. I cut the harnesses and installed my own connectors and the speakers work fine. By looking at the pictures, there are two different wiring harnesses and it appears I got the wrong one, even though I specified that I need the kit for the 97-02 models. One of the biggest selling points is the ease of installing the speakers, which was not the case.

Only a little sound improvement over stock speakers. Most likely due to the awkward placement of the dash speakers on a jeep. They are pointed downward and behind too much plastic dash. Adding a amplifier will most likely help the sound.

Installed these in the dash and then had a JL amp and Fosgate wake tower pods professionally installed. Even with hooking these up to the amp during the professional install you can barely hear these at all even when you fade to only the fronts.
