Reviews for Bedrug Premium Carpeted Floor Covering Kit with Cutouts for 87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ
Work great - easy to remove if needed look great
I'm mostly satisfied. I have no complaints really.
After my wife and installed ‘em we really liked ‘ em. Took us about 3-31/2 hours. I will say if you install the Velcro strips to the pieces with the peeloff backing on before installation it’s a lot easier- you just lay the pieces where they need to go, then roll back the edge and peel off the backing then press it down. That way it won’t stick in the wrong place
I could go either 3 or 4 stars for this review but I will give the benefit of the doubt here. The carpet is not actually carpet, let me explain. It is made of a foam on the bottom with a carpet-like surface which I assume is done in order to make the carpet waterproof. That being said it still looks unbelievable in the vehicle. The wheel-wells do not fit well, but fit none the less. The instructions are clear and precise cut marks are already marked out for you so that there is no guessing involved. I had a problem with my A/C unit being in the way on my passenger side carpet but some cutting was done and it fits fine now. In my opinion, still the best carpet offered but it could be better.
This carpet doesn’t fit the YJ as well as it should for the price.
The roll cage holes are off by about 2 inches.
The wheel wells are smaller than the carpet segments so the carpet doesn’t hug the corners at all.
Nice but you need about 3 times the velco provided to install it without it coming loose. Heat shields are a joke. Just a thin piece of self adhesive foil film that won't stick.
Installed on a '93 Wrangler with manual transmission.
First the bad:
Be prepared to pull a lot to get this thing to fit snug, only for it to not fit very snug. It is simply too large in areas, especially in the rear passenger foot wells and over the rear wheel wells. There are no cutouts for the rear passenger seat belts. I called customer service and they said I needed it to do it on my own, since so many people apparently move seat belts and use aftermarket solutions. What's weird about that is they provide cutout guides for the rear passenger seat brackets (which are upside down and backwards...) so I'm not sure why they decided to skip the seat belts. The roll bar cutouts are not accurate and nothing really fits totally flush against the tub in the middle since the material is fairly stiff and there isn't anything holding it down except around the edges. There is NO cutout for the transmission which is absolutely mind boggling, so be prepared to cut out your own. I botched mine in a bout of frustration and now the transmission boot doesn't cover the screw-up. The front seat bracket cut-outs are a joke, and I ended up just hacking away a bunch of material just to get everything to fit. Oh, and whatever you do, do NOT let the provided velcro straps come anywhere near the carpeted side of this stuff.....
But the good stuff:
The carpet itself is pretty soft and feels well made. It looks great and freshened up my interior quite a bit. It's extremely easy to clean, much moreso than the factory carpet. Once the seats and center console were reinstalled, it looks like a brand new Jeep.
I'm not disappointed in the purchase and would probably do it again, but my God they don't make it easy on you....
I was excited to get this product and found it to be just OK. A lot of compromises seem to be made to make it "easy to remove and reinstall." Truth is that just makes it a bunch of pieces with Velcro everywhere. It generally looks nice, it does not fit the rear fender wells well. Kind of bellowy for lack of a better term.
This was not a good fit. The precuts were not lined up right i would return if i could
I finally got around to installing these in my '92 YJ. Completely disappointed. No cutouts for the driver or passenger side seat belt anchors. Cutouts for the seat brackets were a joke. Shaping for the rise in the floorpan next to transmission hump and inside seat brackets is clumsy. I ended up taking out both seats and still had a horrible time getting everything to fit right. The only way to know things are in the right place are the two slits for body mating just under the front of the doors. Oh...and absolutely no cutouts for my transmission. I took measurements from where I guessing the center floor piece was supposed to go and then made very safe cuts. Then shoved the whole thing over my gear shifters and kept making little cuts until it finally fit. And another thing....I had to dig up the actual install instructions on carid.com. Maybe this product fits whole lot better on other vehicles, but I certainly don't recommend for early 90's wranglers!
