Reviews for Mopar Soft Top Tension Cable for 10-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited
Worked perfectly and was easy to install
Took a while to figure out….you tube helped.
Do not have the part yet to give thumbs up review.
It works
Worked perfectly. If I can do it, anyone can. Took about one hour and that included getting together a few tools and watching a quick youtube video. A few minutes of working through hlw to get the spring off the factory cable, but came off fairly easy. New one went on easier. Highly recommend this, a little pricy, but woth it.
While there are no instructions in the kit, there are a few easy to follow videos on YouTube. I found it easier to replace than the videos, but have a strong pair of needle nosed pliers to remove the old spring. I destroyed a pair of cheap ones from a Target tool kit. Took about 20 minutes total to include looking for better pliers. Top fits snug once more!
Was a perfect fit to replace the driver's side tension cable. Installation was easy. I do not like the cover for the spring that comes with this kit. Luckily i already had a rivet gun, so i was able to reattach the OEM spring housing using aluminum rivets.
Only other complaint is the price for a simple cable, but thats Mopar's fault not Quadratec's
After finding the cables broken on both sides i bought this and the one for the other side. Thought install would be tedious but i used two wire coat hangers to fish through the channel and pull the spring through. Worked flawlessly. Installed both sides in about 30 min. Some videos online will tell you to take the whole top off but it is not necessary.

No instructions of any kind are included. My tension cable failed and the driver's side became very loose, allowing wind to loudly blow right in at highway speeds. No rain made it through, though. The dealer wanted will over $200 in labor to replace the cable assembly, with me supplying the part! It was quite easy to replace the cable and my total time from starting to take the top off to top back on was 2 hours and the work was easy.
