Reviews for Mopar 82214786AB Winch Mounting Kit for 13-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with Rubicon 10th Anniversary Steel Front Bumper
Mopar brand should have same quality as factory components
heavy duty
Overall this is an excellent winch plate, went into a '16 75th anniv jku with almost* no problems. As tech support assured me I did not in fact need to cut the stock vacuum tube mount however as the photo shows, that same mount prevented a critical bolt on the drivers side from going in. This was not a huge issue though as I just hacked about 1/16" of the protruding steel out and the bolt then went in fine. The photo on the website shows some pieces I didn't receive with my box, either. The skinny rocker type plates and the zip ties were not in the shipment. I didn't end up needing those for my install but if you think you will, better call QT sales and confirm they'll be in your package.
Worked well with the Smittybilt 98510 X2O-10 Comp Gen2 Winch on my 2016 JKU Hardrock. Install does require a bracket mounted to the driver's side frame rail be cut off. That's the point of no return as the relocation bracket mounts to the base mounting plate. Nice centered install can be achieved, but the Smittybilt is not totally symmetrical...close enough though. The passenger side farilead bolt proved to be too short and hand to purchase a longer one.
Also, this plate does not conflict with the Maximus 3 Front tow brackets, nor the Maximus 3 Stinger Bar also made for the Anniversary bumper. Could of gotten the Maximus 3 mounting plate but the cross bracket with the fairlead slot in it seemed more robust to me.
Perhaps it was my torque wrench or my technique but I managed to sheer two of the four bolts that connect the horizontal and vertical mounting plates at recommended torque. Replaced all four before installing. Other than that and the challenge of cutting the bracket, a fairly easy install.
