Reviews for Bedrug BedTred Premium Molded Floor Covering Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK
Easy install no trimming needed. Took about an hour and looks great!
I have had this installed for 4 years. Installation is some work, but not too bad. Very durable and easy to clean. Keep some heat shielding over the transmission channel in the front or it gets too hot.
Easily one of the best things we have bought for the Jeep! Easily installed and we feel it eliminated some road noise! Makes dog hair cleanup a breeze and no more wet dog smell if it rains inside the tub!
one of the nest purchases I have made for my jeep. Easy to install and looks awesome. I would take this over carpet any day
Easy to install and much better than carpet! Best purchase I’ve made so far!
Initially I was sceptical about removing the insulated carpeting especially on the rear wheel wells. I was sure the interior noise would be louder. Not so! Install these on a hot day and it will lay down easier. Otherwise use a heat gun. They can be stiff. Minimal trimming will be required. The results are worth the effort. Easy maintenance. Wipe or wash off most anything easily. Dirt, mud, gravel, dust and grim aren't nearly a problem any longer. Open the doors and use your leaf blower! Easy clean up. Tough durable.
Nice tail-gate cover. Covers years of scratches!
Highly recommended.
Awesome. Just leave your plugs out. Great fit!
Pretty good fit in 2012 JKU. Had to make a few cuts and adjustments, but no biggie. Not as easy to take in and out to clean as expected, but certainly possible. Overall happy with the product.
Dog lovers, BedTread (Not BedRug) may be the best answer out there to the endless dog hair/nice Jeep problem. Finally! This will be long, but worth it for those of you having trouble finding good info on what this product actually looks like (pics didn't do it any favors on the Quadratec, BedRug, or any other sites I found it on.)
Let me start by saying, I only installed the BedTread today so this will be a preliminary review only. However, after trying EVERYTHING short of a sprayed-in liner, IMO this is the best option on the market if you have a pet, a kid, or ever use your Jeep for anything besides looking great. I took photos to include with the review but do not see uploading them as an option. That is unfortunate, because I was impressed with both the fit and the look when the install was complete. I did a huge amount of research on forums and manufacturer's sites before making this purchase, in addition to having already purchased all of the fitted mats, MOPAR factory mats, as well as the Rugged Ridge cargo liner. With two large white dogs and black carpet, there was just nothing that could prevent HOURS of vacuuming and brushing the carpet to keep it looking clean.
The install took a few hours, including wrestling out the factory carpet. I will admit, I was frustrated with the process a few times, but ultimately, it was fairly simple given the end result. (I would give the included instructions one out of five stars. All but worthless.)
I was initially disappointed when I opened the box and realized the BedTread product was just the original BedRug (carpet) liner, but reverse molded, so the carpet was on the underside and the plastic faced the interior of the Jeep. I thought, "Great, more black carpet for the dog hair to attach to only now it will be on the underside of the 'carpet" too." NOT good. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised as I started installing it. With a few small exceptions, the molded contours fit well enough that the carpet side will probably never be exposed enough to catch anything. The edges slipped under the trim easily in almost all areas, though I did end up with some bunching on one corner by the rear driver's side door that was due to poor mold-fit. Also, I drive a 2014 JKU, and the pre-cut areas in the rear cargo piece did not match where my factory cargo tie-downs were. It was an easy fix, however. I removed the cargo tie-downs, and using a small blade, I cut a hole the size and location of the bolt attachment (maybe 5mm) and pushed them through and reattached the tie downs. This also secured the "carpet" in place enough that I did not need to use the hook & loop fasteners, which worked out well, because I also had to trim off about 16" from both sides of the very rear center cargo piece, which were where the fasteners were attached. Otherwise, the fit and design were surprisingly good. So much so, that by the time I got to the center of the Jeep, I was thinking MOPAR should be installing this stuff standard instead of factory carpet in EVERY vehicle they make. Seriously.
Regarding the actual material, since I did not feel the pictures were a good representation of the product at the time I purchased it, it is, as I said, carpet on the BACK side. Don't let this turn you off to the idea if you have pets. The exposed surface is thin, lightweight foam, fully covered by a strong, stiff-but-pliable plastic, much like actual bed-liner. I've yet to see how it holds up long-term to two 100 pound dogs with claws, but given my initial experience, I'm optimistic.
Four out of five stars for mediocre instructions (though they weren't horribly important), for poor fit in a couple of places, and for the fact that there is not currently a piece included that covers the BACK side of my seats where there is still exposed carpet. In addition, there were two pieces included with the back cargo section that were basically unnecessary (1. The tailgate piece, which would be fine for a BedRug, but is straight up ridiculous to include in the BedTread Product given how it's supposed to attach; and 2. the Tub Liner piece meant to install under the cargo floor piece - this piece is redundant and the instructions give you the "option" to install it. Why?)
All issues aside, I'm actually calling all of my friends with dogs and Jeeps to tell them this about the BedTread product immediately. It's that good. Hated the install but happy with the option. Will it end the dog-hair problem? No way. But it will make vacuuming it out infinitely easier. Meaning I will always bring my dogs along and leaving the top down or off when it's windy or dusty won't give me any hesitation at all.
So far, other than a few install and fit issues, I LOVE this product. Enough to part with my freshly vacuumed and otherwise perfect factory carpet TODAY. That's huge for a girl who's been carting dogs around in Jeeps for a couple of decades. Bravo BedTread by BedRug. Let's hope you can continue to impress.
I like that I do not have carpet anymore and that it is easy to keep clean. I dont like that it took so long to install.
