Reviews for Mopar 68143886AA Radiator for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
perfect replacement for my 2010 mountain JK, no install issues. Original one started to crack in the plastic and slowly leak fluid. Debated about installing a metal one but was skeptical due to the reviews of various models. Original one lasted 140k, so far I have put 15k miles on it, functioning and looking great; no reason to think it wont last longer than the original motor before ill have to replace or rebuild.
very easy to install, package came undamaged, exact fit!
Rescued my JKU when the plastic upper pipe disintegrated and started leaking. Check your radiators for leaks around the plastic parts, and replace sooner than later!
My 2014 Jeep Wrangler radiator was leaking after only 4 years. I considered replacing with a performance aluminum radiator but those seem to be hit or miss. The consensus on the forums I read seems to be that a mopar replacement was the way to go. I ordered this one and it is an exact match to the one I pulled out. There are many to be had for much cheaper, (not mopar) but I figured I would give this a try. I hope I get more than 4 years out of this one. Time will tell
My 2008 JK Unlimited's radiator was leaking and I replaced it with the Mopar radiator. The fit was great and I installed it without any problems. It was mentioned in earlier posts that the mounting tabs were not pre-drilled. I decided to pre-drill them with a small drill bit to assist with getting the mounting screws started. The radiator has been installed for nearly six months at the time of this post and it has worked perfectly.
My original radiator lasted nearly a decade, and wasn't leaking until my mud packed cooling fan exploded and smashed a hole in it. This one is built the same way, but has a few slight differences that needed to be addressed to install in my application (08 automatic JKU Rubicon).. The passenger side deflector plastic needed to be trimmed (with scissors) to account for an additional screw tower used for a different application, and some transmission cooler guides needed to be removed (with diagonal cutters) so my early style lines fit correctly. The review that stated the holes weren't "tapped" in the Mexican factory was misleading, they aren't supposed to be. The coarse thread pitch bolts cut their threads as they are installed into the plastic, the same way the factory did it. If you look at the unused mounting points in your original radiator, they aren't "tapped" either. Installation was perfect with the two slight modifications, and no leaks. If you're going with a "factory style" rad and not a aluminum upgrade, this is the one to get. Same Mopar quality as the original.
Perfect fit.
4/5 stars for this radiator as it fit fine, and the product I received was what I ordered. However, the radiator that I received was full of plastic dust inside the fill cap. Even after blowing out the cap end, there was still plastic filling and dust inside the radiator. Not good, especially for a component that relies on its tubing and passageways to be clear.
Well, I got about a year out of it before getting the dreaded coolant smell coming from the driverside. At least it's just a vapor and not gushing coolant everywhere... for the time being. Lets face it folks, unless they build JK radiators out of a more pliable material (copper/brass) the leaking issues will never be fixed.
The radiator did come with the 7 holes pre-tapped to mount the 4 bolts for Automatic Transmission cooler, 1 to bolt the Transmission lines on the side, and 2 bolts to mount the fan. I had to to TAP them myself. I give 2 stars based on the poor quality control as product came out of Mexico. The radiator has been installed less than 24 hours.
