Reviews for Mopar 04891781AB Vapor Canister for 07-11 Jeep Wrangler JK
Did the job
It’s nice thanks
Fit as expected. Very satisfied. Remove mounting plate to install canister to make it much easier and simply bolt back on to the frame.
Replaced the canister alone with other parts
Replaces the OEM unit perfectly. Quick and easy change out. Check engine light is gone.
Easy to install, just make sure you get the seal for it.
Perfect fit
I Factory parts are the best most of the time.
My engine started throwing "small evap leak" and Gas Cap codes codes after 100K miles. I kept clearing codes but they immediately came back. Jeep dealership said to ignore them because it would be expensive for a smoke test. Decided to just take a chance and replace the vapor canister. I've got an 09 JK (2 door) and this part was identical in appearance. It's a very easy job--the canister is only held on by the 3 plastic tabs (which slide into a metal plate) and a small metal tab that drops behind one of the tabs to lock it in. I used a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the small metal plate and a rubber mallet to tap the canister forward. You only have to disconnect 2 hoses--one has a push-lock and the other twists off. I used a set of pliers on the push-lock hose but it's not necessary. It'll only take you 15-30 minutes. After I got the new canister installed, I cleared the engine codes with my OBD2 reader and everything is good to go. Even if you don't wrench, this is a doable project.
OEM part so it fit perfectly. You will need parts from the old one.
