Reviews for Quadratec Premium 2" Receiver Hitch with Wiring Kit and Hitch Plug for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Very good product. Installation is very basic and fairly quick. The only area I would improve is the access to the four bolts that not great so lining them up and then tightening them down isn't easy. Recommend a tool or improve access. Also, remind the installer not to over-tighten any one bolt until all are inserted. Also, it would be better to have multiple power harness option in addition to the 4 pins only. Many trailers are 5 or 7 pins.
Installation was a challenge, Muffler in way. Seems to work well though
I haven't pulled anything yet but I would give the hitch five stars for ease of mounting. literally took about 10 minutes to install. But I don't understand why the wiring harness has just a flat 4 pin flat connector when most everything uses the round plug. I was able to find an adapter from the 4 pin flat to the round plug connector at Lowes for about $12 bucks and it comes with the bracket so I installed it. For this hassle I deducted 1 star. Now the Jeep can pull our small popup and have the appropriate round plug connector although this wiring harness does not power the trailer brakes it should work just fine.
Easy to install works great!
4.5 stars. I have a 2014 Rubicon (not an anniversary or X edition) and this hitch fits, however I did have to remove two of the exhaust hangers to make enough room for the bolts to slide in past the muffler. The hangers required a bit of lubricant, a persuasion bar, and a small amount of salty language but otherwise it was a straightforward install and took less than an hour once I realized the hangers had to be removed. Considering some folks have said they didn't have to drop the muffler there may be slight differences in year models. Or maybe I just have big hands....
Easy install, great price. Beats the heck out of the factory option.
The hitch is great, I have a 2009 jk unlimited CRD (Australia) for some reason the wiring has less cables and pins then the stock setup and my left indicator doesn't work all other lights seem fine.
So called powder coated paint started to flake off after on for one month. Looking for another supplier as I return this one.
Being mechanically challenged, you can imagine how excited I was to find the receiver hitch that needed only 4 bolts to be installed on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler limited. Nowhere was there mention of having to lower the muffler in order to install, other than several U-tube videos. Easy enough, just remove the attenuators, except they didn't come off. Back to my $300 install fee!
