Reviews for Quadratec JK-HDBT Extreme Duty Battery Terminals for 07-11 Jeep Wrangler JK
I've been losing charge voltage while driving. I started out with 14.8v showing on the TrailDash, then 20 minutes later it's ~13.5. I thought bad battery but it's less than a year old. Put a tester on the battery and it showed "45% Replace". I saw someone else's reveiw say these work on a 2016 JK, so I got them. I have a 2015 JKUR. I replaced all of the wire connecting lugs and installed the new terminal connectors. I put my battery on a charger while I did the work. After it was all put back together, I ran a full test on the battery. Although it didn't show 100% (94%), it did read charging was good, CCA was good, and voltage was good. TrailDash showed 14.5v for 20 minutes. I haven't ruled out possible damage to the battery yet, but it's a major improvement. Two things I learned in this process: in all my years, I never realized that the positive and negative terminals are different sizes (DOH!). Check which is which before installing. Second, if the terminal connectors get pretty Hot when running for 20 min, you probably have a bad connection. I definitely did. Solid build good product so far.
In case anyone was wondering, these "can" fit on a JK2 (3.6) but you have to do some cutting/trimming of the cable ends. But once you cut off the factory terminals and trim away the excess material, you are left with a pretty good crimped on end with a hole in it which fits nicely on these terminal screws.
These are just about the only game in town if you are looking to replace your terminals on, what I call, the second gen JK or JK2. Mine is a 2016 with 3.6L.
