Reviews for JKS Manufacturing 9800 Telescoping Front Track Bar for 87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ with 0-6" Lift
It is the only adjustable front trackbar for the YJ. It came with good reviews.
Instructions only have a diagram for installing on the drivers side bracket and written instructions for the axle bracket. Would be better with diagrams for both.
Perfect for my 1995 Jeep Wrangler
High quality materials and fasteners. Worked with my YJ ~5" lift... I did not need the relocation bracket for the axle side.
So far so good - hasn't loosened up on me yet.
Bar ends are black instead of the red that is shown in the ad and I have purchased several in the past for customer projects and they have been rad also, with the Black it makes me thing someone has changed the ends to a cheap knockoff or maybe JKS has changed the color
Good product
After installing a 4.5" Rubicon Express lift I was disappointed with the factory track bar so, like some suggested, I removed it.
The next day I drove through a 3" deep pothole going about 20 mph and found myself half way into the next lane of traffic.
I ordered a JKS locking/ unlocking track bar, installed it and greased it up.
For my test run I drove through the same pothole at 20 mph and the Jeep stayed in lane, on course.
Unlocking it is a small challenge as you have to reach in with a 9/16 wrench and undo the bolt. I equate that the same as getting out to lick your hubs on Jeeps before all the electronic yuppie crap and vacuum lines became standard equipment.
So, just keep a Craftsman ( not Snap-On they are for shop tool box only) wrench in the glove box and your good to go.
It was a wise investment to my Jeep YJ suspension build.
It works well but getting out to unloosen it is a pain. I'm going to modify it so it uses a lock like a vise grip with a pin to keep it secure.
