Reviews for OMIX 11210.10 Locking Hood Latch Set in Black for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
I installed the hood locks on my 98 jeep wrangler. Worked perfectly, and the only complaint I have with them is, after 5 or 6 years of trail riding, well it works on the locks from the hood vibrating. And yes before anyone says that I only trail ride and my jeep sits the rest of the time. I daily drive this jeep. Locks are awesome from keeping someone out from the hood. Just wish the locks lasted longer than 6 years for how much you pay for them.
The Omix-ADA Locking Hood Latch Set is heavy, very well made, and is a very good replacement for the OEM rubber hood latches.
I had a couple issues with this product that ultimately caused me to return them. First, everything on your Jeep needs to line up perfectly in order for these to work properly. I could not get them both lined up at the same time. I could get one lined up, but then the other one would not line up, and back and forth. Second, I ordered the black set and the base plate, that goes on the fender, that came with the latches was unpainted stainless steel. I did not care for that. Finally, the fender base plate is not the same size or shape as the OEM hood latch base. So, unless the paint on your vehicle is perfect, you end up seeing the outline of the old/OEM latch base. Not a big deal, but I did not care for that.
Overall a good product, it just did not work for me.
Was not able to use it. If did not fit properly.
I bought these and they went on well. But, when closing the hood you have to finese them. The mechanic last working on my Jeep couldn't get them to close and left two dents in my hood, which I didn't see until I got home.
Pins would not stay in alignment over a 6 month period. One of the pins has now become loose and are making the hood rattle. Unable to tighten it. Will need to return this product as it is not very good quality. Very frustrated, as this is my 2nd purchase of this hood latch. Unfortunately, do not recommend!
Requires a lot of adjustment. Overtime, the pins don't line up. More trouble than they are worth. Spend $30 more and get a good catch.
Well had mine for awhile now and the Key broke off in and now I have a flopping hood lol
