Reviews for Tuffy Security Products Locking Cubby Cover for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Easy install, and with a little modification was able to keep factory plastic cubby's and big cubby underneath.
This cover is a major improvement over the Cardboard ??? factory cover. Now I can get in the back and not worry about the cover caving in with my weight on it. Installed with the Quadratec Ultimate All Weather Rear Cargo Liner it is out of sight, yet easily accessed. Another worthwhile improvement to my JK.
The installation difficulty is listed as level 2 intermediate. Don't worry. This is actually an extremely simple install. It takes less than 5 minutes. It fit perfectly and looks great. I was impressed with the weight sturdiness of the metal.
Awesome super easy to install takes 5 mins. 4 Allen screws and 2 bolts you will need a wrench and socket.
Works well need to cover the metal cover to hide and protect it from the weather.
Discreet and solid. Lock installation takes a couple of tries
Very nice product, well-made and once installed great. I deducted one star due to possible quality control of the bracket or variance of my Jeep, but I had to modify my bracket (bend it) to get it to clamp down and secure to the lip of the jack opening. The cover itself is great and I was surprised, being metal, there is no vibration noises. I feel confident in its effectiness to protect your gear against your average run-of-the-mill snatch and grab thief. Highly recommend, and as others have said, probably should have been OEM from the factory.
This is incredibly secure and actually expands the trunk space a bit. The directions are horrible and hard to understand, but you will figure it out in short order. A MAJOR issue I had was that final step with the brackets that interlock by the jack for the lock mechanism. In my 2013 Wrangler Sport I could not them to tighten fully and be able to close it. After multiple attempts and close study of the parts, it was obvious that they were not shaped correctly for the contour of the jack compartment. I noticed other holes not being utilized on the bracket used to lock the cover, so I just drilled it into the Jeep body using self tapping sheet metal screws and it works flawlessly now. I have a hunch that the bracket included with the product will work in most models, but for my year it was just a little off. Overall it’s great, but just needed a little improvising.
great little product. Its a silly thing that just makes a ton of sense. I will say that the directions sucked. The lock rail pinches the the hole the jack sits in. No drilling.
