Reviews for CSF 2578 Heavy Duty 3-Row All-Metal Radiator with Copper Core for 87-04 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited with 2.5L/4.0L/4.2L
Went right in as a direct replacement
All steel end tanks and 3 row. Well see how the quality is when I receive it.
After nearly 20 years of service, the plastic cap piece on my 2003 Wrangler cracked and spewed coolant all over the engine bay. This almost all metal replacement arrived timely and dropped in much easier than the old one came out, but there was one small glitch. The mounting holes were placed such that the fan shroud was about a millimeter too high such that the fan blades scraped the inside of the lower lip of the shroud causing a terrible racket when I started the engine. Loosening the shroud and elongating the wounding holes dropped the shroud enough to eliminate the problem.
From an installation standpoint the radiator is a perfect fit and lined up with all the factory mounting locations. My '98 TJ the fan shroud is held to the radiator with large hex head sheet metal screws and the CSF radiator has welded nuts in those locations. The welded nuts are better but I had to contact CSF to get the required size, it is an m6 1.0 pitch bolt for those. The Quadratec folks didn't have this info either so it would be nice if it was documented someplace easy to find either in the box, stickers on the radiator or PDFs on both websites.
Installed easily and performs well.
Just installed this radiator replacing the stock OEM aluminium / plastic radiator and it actually runs a bit hotter than before.... really disappointing. Wasted $380
