Good Stuff

For such a simple device, it certainly does the critical job of insuring your winch stays where you put it. (i.e. on the front of your vehicle!) As they've said for so long: "An ounce of prevention, is worth over a pound of cure!"

Money well spent here. Great product from the Engineers of Factor 55. I'm a fan of your stuff. Easy install. But, when you take off one of the bolts to install the Factory 55 make sure it is the same length or lesser. As one of the reviewers did not have the warning piece of paper it came in the packaging that the Factory 55 nut may be too long will be needed to be cut short. Hope this review helps out.

Easy install and does the job. Beware however, the package should come with a small paper stating a warning that the bolt shaft may be too long for some winches. In other words, the bolt may need to be slightly shortened before installation. This paper was missing from my package and I was unaware of this. The bolt snapped during the torque process. Or rather it did not...until I found the bolt head laying on the floor the next morning. Just check your thread depth before torquing to the required 25 foot pounds. The Smittybilt H2O Winch thread depth was too shallow by a tiny amount, but it was enough to bottom out the threads and stress the bolt. Quadratec happily sent me a second bolt and this one included the warning paper. Kudo's for excellent Customer Service!

Looks like a very secure bolt, worth the money to protect a expensive investment like a winch.

shipped fast . took out standard bolt , gooped on some thread lock installed lock bolt . tossed key into tool kit . now i have peace of mind about easy winch theft .

Now i feel secured with my winch. no one can't take it off without the key wench. I did took it off again to replace the fog light that the winch blocked the fog light. they key wench open easily.

Perfect. Install on Smittybilt winch with no issues.
