Reviews for Fairchild Industries KD3006 Outer Full Steel Door Seal Kit for 76-95 Jeep CJ-7, Scrambler & Wrangler YJ
Work great.
easy install. reduces door rattle. Nice!
Not a perfect fit, have to do a little trimming and some rtv but good quality material.
Very good seal.
They can be made to work, but they had two rather large problems that I had to address:
1) The seals were too long and I had to remove about 1.5" then splice the cut ends back together. Vehicle is a 1987 Jeep Wrangler with factory hardtop/full steel doors. I'm the original owner so I know it hasn't been modified.
2) The fasterners that attach the seals to the doors are hollow plastic barbs rather than solid (as the factory fasteners were). I didn't think anything of it until a downpour of rain. That's when I discovered that the hollow fasteners provide a path for any water that may find its way inside your doors to flow into the seal at the bottom of the door. Once the seal fills up, the water can flow along the bottom of the door and into the passenger compartment. It's a crazy path and it took me a while to find out why my jeep was full of water after heavy rains. I should mention that, yes, the door drain holes that direst such water to the exterior of the jeep are wide open and work perfectly. I was able to solve that problem by filling the hollow portion of the fasteners with RTV adhesive.
The seals work fine now, but I wish I didn't have to spend hours troubleshooting problems.
Fits OK some of the pins do not line up with the holes in the door
They weren’t an exact fit and some of the pins didn’t line up. I needed to Modify them and stuff like that. The material is good but not satisfied overall.
Not an exact fit
Seals are too thin at the top, allows for gap at top of door. Poor quality and fit. Disappointed, expected more for price.
