Reviews for Skyjacker 9009 M95 Silver Steering Stabilizer for 84-06 Jeep Cherokee XJ, Grand Cherokee ZJ, Comanche MJ, Wrangler YJ, TJ & Unlimited
The boot and connections like original equipment
Stabilizer went in very easy. Had to spread the flange on the right side to accept new rubber bushing. Harder to get the old one out then put the new one in. Took out the minor wobble that was starting. My 2006 TJ Rubicon drives great now.
It was harder to remove the old stabilizer than to put the new one on. This tightened up the steering on my jeep and removed the wander after hitting Michigan pot holes. Totally worth every penny.
My Jeep drives like a Porsche now that this is installed. Seriously though, it made a huge difference, I highly recommend this upgrade. The old one was really difficult to remove, but only took about 10 minutes to install the new one.
Instant improvement in handling.
Had a bit of a time getting it in though as the bushing width at the axle mount was very tight. Not a full-time fixer so it took me a bit to work my way through it.
Four stars only because there were no instructions.
Basic replacement stabilizer for a Jeep YJ. Will not fit the stock steering linkage as the bolt is to large. I had to drill out the steering linkage to a larger size.
It works.
Looks nice but doesn't fit. The bushings are 1/8" too large to fit my '05 Jeep Unlimited. To install it would require either bending the mount outwards(taking a chance of breaking a weld) or trimming the bushing. My mount is not bent and the original stabilizer slides in perfectly. Original one is 1/8" smaller. The new one is also huge in diameter. It is over 1" larger in diameter larger than stock. Very little clearance around the steering rod. More like a shock than a stabilizer. Will return and get something that fits.
