Reviews for Boom Mat Hardtop Sound Deadening Headliner for 03-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ
I thought it was a fun project and it reduced a lot of road noise. I am able to go from neighborhood driving to highway without adjusting the stereo volume. I've got ear plugs for long trips that I may not need in the future. It's still a noisy Jeep but I can carry on a conversation now. Well worth the effort.
night and day difference. keeps the jeep cool, and i can actually hear my friends in the jeep now
OMG!! This is the first thing that I should have done to my TJ. It's amazing and what a difference it makes! Now if I could do something about my box of rocks NV 3550 transmission.
This makes a huge difference in the noise level inside my Jeep! It was really easy to install and the adhesive sticks like crazy! I wiped everything with isopropyl alcohol prior to installing and it’s not ever coming off with a lot of work. Not only does it deaden the road noise, it makes a huge difference in the audio sound. It won’t make your Jeep as quiet as a car, but it will allow you to carry on a conversation at highway speeds. And around town. It is almost as quiet as a car. I highly recommend. I only wish it came with side panels too.
This was a great addition to my 03 Rubicon. It went on easy, and has been on for almost 18 months at this point. I live in Bakersfield, CA, so I go from 110 in the summers to below freezing when I take the Jeep up the mountain in winter. Only one minor, (and I do mean minor) dip in the front where the adhesive was thin, but other than that no issues.
Great idea at first.Made a huge difference to sound and had good thermal propeties....but
after about a week when the night time temperatures drop to the 40's (6C) the adhesive started to give. First the passenger side front and then the back piece. The fiberglass was cleaned with alcohol and the filler pieces have adhered well. The installation was done on a warm day with no issues.
On a friends advice I have purchased a roll of automotive trim tape which should do the trick but must be installed in over 50 degree temps. This stuff hold mouldings on cars for the life of the car!. Would like to give a 5 star but can't because of the adhesive problem.
