Do I still need to purchase a rivet gun to install these on a 2012 JK Sport?
Yes a rivet gun that can handle poly rivets, such as Performance Tool W2005, would be preferred. It can be done with standard hand tools, but is more complicated to hold in place while the mandrel is pulled out properly, then you must go back and trim off the excess. The rivet gun does it all in one motion.
Hi, I see 2 different versions of this item, one is textured black and the other is not. Which one matches the original better? Thanks
The textured black version closer matches the base and sport models that did not have paint-matched fender flares. The Sahara and Rubicon had smooth, painted fender flares.
Do these come with all the installation hardware or do I need to order rivets separately? The description mentions rivets being sold individually and that 24 are needed.
This kit now includes the rivets with the other required hardware to attach both to the body and the liners. The note regarding rivets has been removed.
I ordered and received these but there are no instructions. Is there somewhere I can get instructions so I can install correctly.
These are factory original replacement flares and install just as the original flares are. Any instruction would be covered in factory service manuals which are not available for distribution. There are videos available on platforms like Youtube that cover stock flare installation/removal.
do i have to purchase the fender flare liners or can i use the existing ones???
These flares will work just fine with your existing liners and support brackets.
Since there were no instructions included with my for fender kit, I researched on YouTube. Apparently the fender should be attached to the liner, clips inserted in fenders and then installed. Due to the stiffness of the clips I am unable get the clips to go through the holes and fasten the fenders to the body. The flange on the fenders gives instead of clips being pushed through the body panels. The clips included with my kit black, very difficult to push into body panels even without the finders attached. Are there more flexible clips available? 2007 JK
We do not have more flexible clips. A good amount of force needs to be applied to snap the parts together, this is done intentionally so they do not work themselves apart while traveling.
Can these be left unpainted? Will they work with Sahara unlimited jk?
These will fit any application Wrangler JK. They are a textured black like the original unpainted flares. They are intended to be left bare and will have UV stabilizer in the material that will protect it.
