Reviews for Crown Automotive Rear Fender Flare in Textured Black for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon or X Model
Factory fit
Easy to install. Looks great
Look great and works well
Nearly as good as the original; good enough for a 4 yr old JKU. Small piece broken off but in a place where it wouldn't show so I installed. Damage likely in shipping, not packed very well.
Overall, I don't think anyone can tell the difference from OEM; would use again.
I bought a pair of these to replace my rear factory fenders which had become damaged on the trail. My mistake - possibly - is not ordering the fender liners to go with them. I figured I'd save some money and use these with my factory fender liners. I managed to get the driver's side done, but it was not an easy task at all. I had a horrible time getting the oem liner to line up with the Crown fender.
I was not able to get the passenger side to line up. There is a small raised section at the top of the factory liner that would not line up with the Crown fender. I tried heat, prying, wiggling - everything I could think of and no luck. Ultimately on one of the repeated removals and replacing, two of the tab retaining slots became fatigued and broke. I am not happy.
No take-offs are available in my area, and other manufacturer fender flares/liners are not in stock here right now. I have purchased another Crown fender with a Crown fender liner to see if I am able to make that work as a result. I'll update my review once I receive them.
Looks great but fit is horrible. Watching the videos they show it’s super easy 20 minute job but that’s far from accurate. Very difficult to get all the clips to line up with the holes and then being able to have enough force to push the clip in once it’s lined up. Make sure you purchase extra clips and plastic rivets. They tend to break with the amount of force required to push them in. Also it’s helpful to remove rear bumper and side step to make installation easier to reach in to push the clips in.
