Reviews for MBRP "Off Road" Cat Back Exhaust System for 12-18 Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.6L V6 Engine
Easy install, great sound.
Great product, keeps everything up tight to the frame. As everyone else said, hardest part is getting the old system out.
I grew up around V8s with dual exhaust, obviously you cant get the same sound out of a V6, but it does have a throaty sound to it, i wasnt sure i liked it at first but its grown on me a lot.
First, I'd like to say that this product is manufactured to a quality that was way beyond what I expected. The polish, the finish, the cuts, the bends, are right on. And the installation was easy. Obviously, as you probably have read, the removal of the old exhaust is the most difficult part, but after that's done this system bolts right and fits beautifully. My complaint and only complaint is that after seeing all the YouTube videos and comparison videos, there isn't much difference in sound between the stock and the MBRP stainless exhaust. However in real life, this exhaust is quite loud if. Maybe if I was 20 or 21 I probably wouldn't complain but it can really rasp and wake up the neighborhood even at moderate acceleration. My advice to anyone buying this muffler system is to get the 20 inch resonator by MBRP. I called MBRP and voiced my concern and they recommended their 20" resonator and gave me a discount price. My 2015 JK Rubicon Unlimited Hard Rock really sounds throaty now!!! Thanks MBRP!
Looks good and sounds good.
Sounds pretty good, a bit aggressive. East install. But the clamps are junk. Who thought a rounded/beveled head was a good idea on the nut. Getting the clamps set was such a pain. I had to replace the clamps because they kept loosening up.
To begin I thought I had bought a decent exhaust for the money, but a couple of months after install I was driving down the interstate and my exhaust came off and wraped around my differential and what had happened was the factory exhaust hangers have have a nipple on the end to prevent the exhaust from comming off the hangers and MBRP’s looks like it was sawed off! So while I was driving I was going through a construction zone and the exhaust started to move back and forth and slid right out of the hangers so weather mine was a defect or just a bad design I dont know but when I contacted Quadratec and filled a claim of course they just said it had to have been installer error which I know it was not because it didnt come off in peices the whole cat back slid off in one peice. So be aware if you do buy the exhaust modifey the ends to prevent what happened to me
