No, unfortunately the wiring is not serviced separately.
I cracked the lens on my factory 3rd brake light. Is the replacement piece? The number I see on the piece is 55397217 but this does not match the part number listed on your site. Are they compatible?
Yes they are. The component number is not available as a replacement part so the entire assembly must be replaced.
Is this the unit that is made by Recon? Is the lens red like the picture? Does it come in a smoked lens? Thanks.
Yes the lens is red, this is a factory replacement for the unit that is on the vehicle, the same unit that a dealership would install during a service appointment.
This uses standard incandescent bulbs, not LED?
No this uses LED, which is part of the reason why Jeep services the tower as a unit. The lights are sealed at the factory.
So does this come as pictured? With the tower and wire harness?
Yes, you receive all that you see in the photo.
How does this mount to the tailgate and does it come with mounting hardware?
This is merely a replacement part for the major component #55397217AJ which is the factory spare tire carrier and third brake light mount. This part simply snaps into the original tower which is held to the tailgate with 8 screws #6509043AA. This part can also be used for some after market tire swing applications if you do not feel like dismantling your original tire carrier.
Does the light flash three times prior to going solid when brake pedal is depressed?
No it will not. this is a factory original part and will function like the unit that was on the Jeep.
Is this an led light?
Yes it is, just like from the factory.
