Reviews for Rugged Ridge 13551.09 CB Radio Dash Mount for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited
Love this CB mount, used it for a Cobra 19. It was an easy install and fits perfectly. I've had it in my jeep for three years now, it has never come loose and still looks brand new.
Works well, but I fell like it sticks into the gauge surround too much.
I would have given it 5 star's but it wasn't bent properly, not level, luckily I have access to a sheet metal break
The good: sturdy, black wrinkle finish, package contained all listed hardware.
The bad: like another reviewer said, the bracket hits the side of the instrument cluster. I had to use spacers that I made to allow room for bracket to be installed (see uploaded picture).
The Rugged Ridge CB radio dash mount for TJ's is easy to install and puts your CB radio where it can be easily seen and reached. However, due to manufacturing tolerances of both Jeep and Rugged Ridge, the mount rubs on the dashboard at the side of the instrument cluster and with time will leave a permanent gouge. Rugged Ridge supplies a small piece of weatherstripping to place between mount and dash to prevent contact but there has to be a better way. In the end I decided not to use this mount and elected instead to use an overhead mount supplied by another vendor.
After looking at other mounting locations, I bought this thinking it would be the best th option for my TJ. The problem I had was the mount fits flush on the dashboard between the door and the raised instrument panel. Unless you CB is small enough to fit there, you will have problems mounting the radio. I had to raise mi e about 2 inches so my radio would extend over the instrument panel. Unfortunately since the bottom screw hole is at the very bottom of the mount, I had to weld a small piece of steel to extend the mount, then measure and drill 2 new holes.
This mount doesn't give you much room for your coax hookup. It's located where it's easy for someone to remove
