Reviews for AEV 2in Spacer Suspension System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Easy installation.
AEV quality and engineering behind their lift kit
Was not too difficult to install. The bolts provided for the front bump extension were too short. Had to make a a trip to a hardware store to get the correct size bolts.
This was my first 'lift' and was intended to be replaced later with a spring/shock lift. Instructions were great and components are always top quality with AEV!! I paired this with a set of 33's and it lifted it back to a stock ride height.
NOTE: If you plan on upgrading after this lift to a spring lift, keep your rear spring isolators. You will need them when/if you upgrade to another lift.
Kit looks great and lifts just about 2", as advertised. Drive feels pretty much like it did before. Install was a little tricky at a few points- the main one being removing the bracket holding the brake line and the sensors in the front. I have to assume those are made from the strongest metal anywhere on the Jeep... The rest of the install was easy enough, and the instructions, which could use a little more detail, aren't too tough to fill in the blanks on.
Very good quality kit. Gave the advertised lift. In the instructions, for the rear, they need to specify to remove the parking brake cables support brackets from the bottom of the body to allow the rear axle to drop an additional amount. Mine were pulled tight before and not allowing enough drop to install the spring/spacer combo. Also the front shock brackets are left and right. Instructions does not specify that. Overall excellent kit.
Great product and quality. You do all the same things to get this kit installed as a bigger lift, but this is a great way to get a little more room and get your Jeep up a little higher off the ground. AEV stuff is top notch and they have better than average installation instructions. If you're looking for a spacer lift, this should be on your list to consider.
good quality for basic kit
Aev makes great stuff, even though this is a budget item it has done it's job as advertised.
The good: AEV reputation, quality of components, as stated this lift will not change the ride/handling characteristics of the Jeep which was important to me. The bad: instructions are terrible as I knew going in after reading other threads on here. Also I believe one of the threads from 2014? stated the rear shock bolts were too short. AEV couldn't have corrected that by this time? The ugly: As quoted from the supplied instructions "for 2011 and newer models, use supplied zip ties to secure the brake line to the shock as shown." Really? On a 4x4 that will most likely see off road use securing a brake "hose" to a shock via a zip tie will eventually lead to trouble. Being an inspection mechanic 30+ years, this would be cause for rejection in Pa. If you decide on this kit as I did because of the "good," do yourself a favor and install brake relocation brackets which are available but should be part of this kit. I went with pro comp.
