Does the job.

Easy install and directions on the site were perfect. It opens the tailgate and holds it open, make sure no little kids are standing behind it when it opens. To close it you need some force.

a great addition when loading items to keep the gate open.

Just installed it and it’s so much better than I expected. I only have to touch my latch and the door opens even on a small incline. It’s wonderful.
It seems solid. I may end up super glueing the plastic guide that’s on the shaft. It’s moves sometimes.
But yeah, super happy with this upgrade.

Note that I have a 35” tire as well as several pound of gear attached to my tailgate. It doesn’t seem to affect performance.

This replaced an unknown make stabilizer that broke because it had plastic connectors that snapped onto metal nipples on the connecting brackets. The plastic cracked making it useless. Happy to say everything on this Rampage is metal and secured to the brackets by bolts and screws. This doesnt really keep the tailgate from swinging out with force or slow down the tailgate. I guess I was hoping it would slow the swing out. It DOES lock the tailgate open once it swings all the way open. Did not come with instructions, had to download them from Quadratec. Pictures were bad/hard to see (black and white print/photos and they use a black Jeep and the strut is also black...). Measurements were iffy based on the drawings in the instructions and the photo example did not match the drawings. Steps were poorly written. Self tapping screws don't fully tighten all the way. Tip: after doing pilot holes, use a low speed drill with socket attachment to get screws in.

Snapped after having it for 3 months

Easy to install but broke within one year of light use.

Did not come with any instructions so very dissapointed! Will have to search for them online.
