Reviews for Rampage Products 1261 RMP 4 Layer Cab Cover for 92-06 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ
The good: It's easy to install.
The material it's made from feels tough, yet it's very light. This aids greatly in ease of installation.
It fits reasonably well.
It's offered at a good price.
The bad: There must have been a thread shortage when the tie downs were stitched on. Two came loose as the attachment seams gave up as soon as we stretched them for the first time. If you're willing to restitch these and have a sewing machine, this might be a good buy.
Unfortunately, this is another good idea poorly executed. Consumers shouldn't have to re-manufacture a product to make it suitable for use.
OK cover for the price - it is somewhat water resistant for emergencies. This is best used for covering the Jeep overnight to keep dew off the interior, keep animals and debris out the cab, but don't leave it on for multiple days in the sun. The fabric broke down after about 1.5 years of use which included leaving it covered for multiple days in the summer occasionally and it started flaking (from UV exposure?)- leaving junk all over the interior. I replaced this with the more expensive Bestop cover which I give 5 stars - I guess you get what you pay for.
it has not rained here yet so not sure about how waterproof it is
during the summer I keep to soft top down and plan to use it for rain, during the winter I plan to use it to keep the snow and ice off hard top (I keep it outside as wife owns the garage.)
I'm not sure it will stay on in high wind and does not fit well with hard top (it is to small)with soft top fit is ok, and fits well with tops off.
I have modified mine to attach to the footman loop on hood with a Velcro strap, strap by rear fender wells, and one in the rear attached to tailgate all sewn to cover,
it does have 2 straps with buckle on each side on the back by tail lights (not sure how to use them maybe to secure cover if you roll it up like a sleeping bag??? but then it wouldn't fit in the provided sack ???)
3 stars because of fit with tops on (fit GREAT with tops off ), does not secure well provided elastic straps seem to be of low quality, cost plus modification
It fit perfect and totally covered the openings when my windows and door uppers were removed. I agree with some of the other reviews though, about the fabric quality and longevity. I like to leave my windows off from April-November and after 2 years this cover completely disintegrated. I replaced it with the MOPAR cover which I’ve had twice as long and its just starting to wear out.
Decent cover for the money. I’ve been using the cover for about 2 months now, mainly to keep neighborhood cats and critters out at night. My only issue is the fit. It doesn’t completely cover the opening at the front above my half doors.
I bought this on 4/27/18, received a few days later. I was super happy with it, nice fit, no hassles, kept the rain out like advertised. I cover it 90% of the time. South Florida weather. The past couple times i have put it back on I noticed some fuzz in the air and on me. Thought maybe it was dust or pollen. Today (6/17/18) I took it off and noticed bigger flakes coming off, i looked at the top of it and it missing chunks of the top layer. I wasn't expecting be all end all for the price, but 2 months in the rainy season in Florida that's crazy. Will start looking for replacement soon. :(
Terrible - DO Not Purchase. It has not even been 3 months and this cover is already ripped. What a piece of junk. Do not buy this product.
After 6 months of use under a carport the cover material started to break down and the elastic became stretched and fatigued. 90 day warranty is kind of a joke.I would recommend avoiding this cover.
Guess this product fits over top as advertised. But it's short at the windows and rain gets in. My jeep is out in the weather year round. I remove my windows during the spring ,summer , and fall months. I bought the cover to keep the rain out. My mistake. I would not recommend this product.
Ordered cover, installed once when we went to remove cover sewing on strap broke. Quadratec quickly replaced cover with a 2nd cover. Second cover broke an attachment hook upon first installation.
