Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11620.10 All Terrain Flat Fender Flares for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
These fender flares are perfect in every way! The look is smooth, clean lines with Betty. The install was super easy also, only took me about 2 hours and I read and followed the directions step by step. Highly recommend these to anyone looking for replacement fender flares.
Fit is perfect! Live the look of these flares. Front view looks OEM, give a great amount of space for flexing. I’m running a 2.5” Rock Krawler Lift and 35” Xtreme M/T’s and the fit is great with this combo.
perfect fit went on with no issues
Good durable fenders, have had no issue been install over 6 months
I wish there was a 3.5 star rating, because they are not quite 4, but not 3 stars either.
Anyway, these are really good fender flares, super easy to install, the most difficult part of this install was getting the old fenders off. Instructions are simple and easy to understand, once you have done one fender you don't need the instructions anymore, its really that easy. Just as a side note, I did NOT reinstall the factory fender liners because that involved cutting and trimming and a lot of extra work that I was not prepared to do at the time. At first the flares seemed flimsy to me which concerned me but once they are on the vehicle and bolted down they are actually quite sturdy. I have done over 5000 miles with them on an Arizona trip from Cleveland Ohio and back and they took everything thrown at them.
The issue I have, is with the brackets that house the side marker lights, which at the end was the deciding factor for me to buy these instead of other fender flares that did not retain the side marker lights. When I took them out of the box I immediately looked at these and thought that this looks like a last minute "hey lets make something to put the side marker lights in" idea.
The issue is that when you run 35 inch tires, with a 2.5 inch lift like I have, the tires will rub on these brackets when the suspension flexes wile turning the wheels, which, in itself is not such a big issue, the issue is the retention plates that is supposed to keep the side marker lights in the housing, it keeps popping out. This means that my side marker lights keep falling out and dangle inside the wheel well while I drive. Even something as simple as a car wash can make them pop out when the pressure of the water gets to the lights.
I think the idea was ok-ish, the retention plates that they decided to use to keep the lights in the bracket was a bad idea, they constantly fall out to the point where I am just going to remove the side marker lights.
Which is disappointing because I want the lights to remain on the vehicle which is why I chose these fender flares.
These look great, however they are extremely flexible and because I do a lot of high speed highway driving they flex enough to crack. 2 Fenders already have large cracks in them in only 8 months.
