Easy install, seems to brace the steering box as intended.

I added this to my Throttle Down Kustoms SBB-7686CJ Extreme Heavy Duty Steering Box Bracket for 76-86 Jeep CJ installation for a bullet proof steering system on my 86 CJ7.
This mounts to existing bolt holes and installs in minutes.

Like the other reviews the bolts were incorrect sized for the frame side. I took the original bolt out and went for replacements at Lowe’s hardware. If I could access the inside I’d use their hardware but I can’t put a wrench there. If you could cut into the frame to fit a wrench it would work a lot better. Still makes a lot of difference. I will eventually get a had steering box bracket to match but for now it helped.

Awesome product. The only thing I would improve on is the hardware. I would like them to send out the same hardware that’s in the cj originally. Where the plate meets the frame the thread pattern is different. If they would use the same as original installation would be easier.

Fit easily, but clamp was questionable. I put spacers to take up gaps and to not apply too much clamping pressure on steering box output shaft housing. I then added SS tie wire to make sure clamp doesn’t slip down and interfere with the Pitman arm.
