Reviews for Teraflex 3990630 Dana 30 HD Differential Cover
Great product and affordable
Very thick cover and went on with out any issue. Would definitely use a plug sealer or liquid Teflon to avoid fluid leaking out but worth the money.
Awesome diff cover and it’s thick and heavy ! Especially for the price ! No regrets buying this , the only thing to keep in mind is that the brass drain plug needs either lock-tite or thread tape to keep it secure if you own a welder the problem could be easily solved by welding a small tack weld on the inside of the cover so that the drain plug can’t be screwed in to far . Other than that it is worth every penny and I’m glad I bought it .
Installed a d44 also. No issues here. Love the look, HD, bolts torqued up to 30 ft lbs without snapping. Great dif cover.
Heavy duty twice as strong as the factory.
If you are doing a re-gear (as I was) or any differential service, picking one of these up is a no brainer. I have put these on both my WJ and JK, and will likely do so on the LJ when I get to the point of doing diff work. They both look great cosmetically and are super beefy, there is no comparison to the factory diff cover...
Simple, iron, not fancy or bulky
Lets start with the good.
Pros:
Looks good.
Fits with stock steering.
Definitely beefy.
Human answered the phone when i called for questions.
Cons:
The included bolts are weak and prone to snapping.
The brass drain plug requires pipe tape to seal and strips easily.
No instructions included or available.
Customer service was not super knowledgeable.
