Reviews for Vertically Driven Products 32501 Locking Hidden Storage Vault for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Sturdy. Works great and securely hidden.
Not a huge fan of the plastic bottom. I wouldn't say its a vault, but just a place to keep small things out of the way.
Kinda undecided on this product. The storage space is great for tools, but not the tools and AEV 40306002AA Jack Base for 07-17 Jeep Wrangler JK, and the storage bag for the front panels of a hard top. So ya gotta make a choice and choose other place to stow all these things.
Good concept, but does not use the room very efficient. Combination with liners not seamless
Bottom Line: I'm using it and like it as an innovative way to unobtrusively add secure storage to my Wrangler.
Strengths: Conceilability, ease of install, unique approach, good size.
Areas for improvement: The anchor bolt could be bigger - both the flanges and the bolt itself, the insertion point into the bottom of the vault could be reinforced more.
Installation was fairly straight forward. I have a plastic tray in my well - which I retained so as to cover the jack. I also kept the top carpet to lay over the vault to conceal it.
When you remove the drain plug, I recommend saving it. Cut it to fit in the gap next to the bolt so that you don't have a big hole in the bottom of the well that stuff could crawl into.
My kit was missing a washer but I didn't call customer service. I just grabbed one from the hardware store - so I was fine.
The bottom of the vault is plastic. And that's where the wing nut tightens down on. I think they could look at maybe putting a metal insert at that point or think about using a lightweight metal bottom. My concern is that if someone wanted to aggressively grab the vault and pull at it while shaking it that it will pop out either because the wing nut is pulled through the plastic or the underlying flanges on the bolt shake lose and pop through (notice I mention these could be bigger above).
Overall, I think it will deter most folks as it's not immediately visible and once it is discovered - unless you know how it was installed you would probably just leave it alone.
Missing all the mounting hardware. Only thing in the box were the keys.
Fit seems poorly thought out and requires removal of the tray that holds all the bits and screws for tops.
My recommendation would be to find something else… in my case, I have a plastic locking plastic case that I can’t secure to the jeep, useless.
Just received the product, opened it up and the security door is not even attached. Bad product design.
Very disappointed with this purchase. This thing has a metallic hinged top but the body is all plastic (with enough force I could probably rip it out of the jeep without unlocking it) and it's not a perfect fit in the cubby either... At least it was cheap...
