Reviews for Rugged Ridge 11586.01 Off-Road Jack Mount for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
I ordered this product for my '15 Jeep Wrangler.JK. As mentioned in several reviews and even a YouTube video, made mention that the written instructions were a bit confusing, and yes, you will have to re-install it due to the confusion. BUT... that said, the product is EXTREMELY well made, works perfectly and really looks great against the granite paint. I had wanted to keep my plastic hinge covers but it was hard enough to install the product without trying to get them to snap back in (they can't). If you are using this with a Hi-Lift Jack (I have a 7000# Hi-Lift), a few tidbits to know... 1. Rotate the base (foot) so the long end is facing away from the jeep for a better fit; and 2. Before installing the jack, buy a inner tube patch kit from Harbor Freight, etc and put one (1) of the 1" patches on each of the narrow points on the jack foot. This will eliminate the rattle that will drive you crazy. Once these two (2) little pieces of rubber are in place, you won't even know the jack is there. One last thing, this may not effect you but my 7000# jack is higher than most and you need to use caution when operating the tailgate and the upper glass window if you have this. Looks like you could easily break the rear window when its open and trying to close the tailgate. Another great purchase from Quadratec.
I a cheap jack mount that was less than half the price and I thought it was going to fall off on every bump. This one is solid and the jack doesn't rattle one bit. Installation was easy but unless I'm missing something, the upper mounting plate is completely unnecessary? Just put the bolt through the mount directly into the gate hinge, you don't even need to drill both holes in the cover. No clue why that plate would be needed.
As advertised
A little bit of a challenge to install without a second set of hands, but a great place to stow a needed Hi-Lift jack!
Nice sturdy mount for Jack.
It fits my Jeep
Location on rear of Jeep
worked well
Rear location, ease of use
Removing one star as it's not stated that using with the HD Spartacus carrier requires you to use the "upper" mounting bolts for the cradle. This makes a standard sized Hi-Jack stick out nearly a foot over normal ride height. We were able to remove the top weld-nuts and get a bit creative to get everything to line up when using the bottom holes. Be wary if you're getting this and you have limited vertical clearance anywhere (garages/carparks)
