Reviews for Fairchild Industries KD4032 Fairchild 6" Fender Flare Kit for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ & 04-06 Wrangler Unlimited LJ
Was a pain to install, had to bend front passenger side flare a little to align holes. Held up well after years, nice and flexible.
Slightly have to bend them to get them to line up,but good fit once all the bolts are tight. The hardware included plastic washers which wasn't good for this install imo,so I used the factory bolts with the big metal washers.Be sure to thread all the new plastic nutserts before installing, otherwise they are a pain to hold while tightening the screws.Took me about 90 minutes per side using a 7mm ratcheting wrench.
They took a little longer to put on then you said, but all is good.
Not a perfect fit but they're installed and look great
True 6” wide OEM style flares with matte finish and subtle texture. The rear flares fit well however, the front flares have to be bent into place. The extensions are identical the OEM ones so they are not as wide as new flares. The flares are shorter than stock ones so the front trim line doesn’t match up with the steel fenders and the extensions are too low. The extensions need to be cut to fit flush and the mounting holes need to be modified to match up with the shorter new flares. The bag of hardware was 8 bolts short and I bought new steel fender washers because the plastic washers included didn’t appear to be sturdy enough.
They have held up well. They do have a bit of a funny bend to them.
Fenders flares look nice . But the flare extensions are factory size , you should mention that on the description. I already have nice factory size extensions. Was expecting extensions to be same size as flares I ordered. Since they were included. I could have ordered a 4pc. set and saved a little bit of money.
The look of these flares is good out of the package. I recommend using the OEM hardware with the new rectangle nuts for screw tightness. Front flares require some flexing to fit, which results in a slight buckle at the rear downward angle. This occurs on both sides. I attempted to tighten the fasteners from top middle and down both sides, from one side to the other and vice versa, but the ripple still was there. The front fender fitment therefore is not exact resulting in the buckle. There was a small space where the new front flares did not cover where the old OEM flares were originally up against the paint. The small flares behind the front flares fit well, but they do not match up perfectly with the front flares causing some flex where they meet. The rear flares fit perfectlly. Overall the look from afar is good, but the front fender fitment is poor at best and could be better. Installation was tough, recommend a 8mm ratchet wrench and a pair of pliers to hold the rectangle nut in the back during uninstall and install. These flares had great potential and they will stay on the TJ for now, but I imagine they will come off in the future for something that fits more like OEM. Overall install time was 2 hours.
Holes do not like up. Poor quality.
Save your money.Major fitment issues. Three of the four flares have buckles in them . We tried elongating the holes in an attempt to get them to fit. It almost seems that they are too long. Now that we have altered them, they are non returnable. There is a reason these are half the price of the others.
