Reviews for Crown Automotive Aluminum Valve Cover Kit for 93-04 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ; 93-01 Cherokee XJ and 93-04 Grand Cherokee ZJ & WJ
Awesome, Love it, i Did repaint it to match my new stroker motor going in my 99 Jeep XJ Cherokee.
Great cover, really adds to the looks of the engine and engine bay.
Purchased for a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. Works great, no more leaks from the warped original cover. Be sure to purchase the plastic vent tubes as you won't be able to recover the original ones out of the original stamped steel. Only issue is the fill cap fits tightly into place with a punch with a fist, then pry off with your finders to open. Big issue is the cap can get wore and will become loose in the fill hole; the cap used to be sold separately, but not any more.
Nice touch to clean up the engine bay. You do have to trim if you plan to run ARP headstuds for clearence
Excellent replacement rocker arm cover. Looks great and fits at a bargain price!
Looks nice, but the paint was chipped in a few areas when I received it. Not too terribly noticeable so I went ahead with the install, but a ding in the score for that.
Nice product. Back machine bolts can be difficult to install. Allen heads on bolts have a tendency to rust, clearcoat or paint bolt heads. I also installed a better valve cover gasket from autozone that has all the bolt holes on the gasket for better sealing. Looks good.
Original rocker arm cover engineered to leak, this cured problems & looks great , lowers sound level
Good, but with issues.
First, i had to admit, it surely looks 110% better than the stock valve cover. I got mine in late 2007 for my 1999 XJ and in 2019, i still have it. But, over the years, i have had issues with bolts loosening and causing it to leak oil then. Something the Stock rarely did. And even though they said the valve cover fit my 4.0L, well, there were fitment issues and in the process of tightening the bolts, it cracked.
The shop i had the work done, mig welded and i've used it ever since.
The Oil plug is an easy replace from an Auto Parts store cheap, i've done it more than one. I just strip the paint off my, replaced the everything as it will be going on a new motor. I could replace it, but for a 20 year old Jeep, it's either buy ugly used from eBay, another Aluminum or some racing company's over priced version.
If you want it to last, just keep an eye on it
Paint is horrible.
