Reviews for Mopar 123220RR Light Bar for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Well made (relatively) simple install, JK is a little more challenging. Originally made for earlier version, instructions aren’t for JK. The instructions show holes in the upper air dam for the brackets which the JK doesn’t have. You either need to trim the ends of the plastic air dam even with the frame (simple to do) or remove the dam permanently. (Dam is too thick to drill holes through. I tried, thickness of dam won’t allow brackets to sit high enough.) Otherwise, instructions are easy & spot on. (3 pics posted)
Product itself was well finished & allows for up to 3 lights, I preferred 2. For reference, I’m running KC LED Slimlights (KC windshield brackets for the upper lights). Ran the wiring behind the grill and up the passenger side above the radiator hose.
Good
Love is new light bar. Allowed me to mount three KC lights. Quadratec was on point with shipping and packaging again as always.
Bought this Mopar Light Bar for an added touch to the stock bumper. Didn’t want to replace the front bumper. Will be adding a 20 inch light bar soon. Watched a few videos, read the instructions for installation. Took about a hour and a half to install. Highly recommend.
Let’s be clear. You do NOT have to remove the bumper; and you do NOT have to trim anything! The frame brackets are designed to fit between them (see photo) and everything bolts up fine. Read the directions! This is a fine product at a great price, don’t let one reviewer scare you away. I did the whole job in 45 minutes, took a break and then added Quadtratec round 4” LED’s. This Mopar bar is the simplest way to add auxiliary lights to the front of your Jeep if you want to keep the factory plastic bumper - and it looks great!
Easy to install. You do not have to remove the bumper or the plastic filler piece. There is also no cutting required of anything. Read the directions and follow them. It took no longer than 30 minuets to install. I installed a 21” Hella light bar on it and it looks great.
Easy install and no cutting is necessary on my 2017 JKU. Miunting brackets slide into place from each side and fit around the plastic shield behind the bumper. Remove the plastic air deflector under the front. It attaches with 6 plastic pins that remove easily when pried up with a flat screwdriver blade. Then use an open end wrench to hold the self locking nuts and slide them up from the bottom while keeping them pressed up to the backside of the frame. Do the top bolt first and tighten snug by hand. Then do the bottom one. Once they are installed, you can tighten them with a socket wrench and the self locking nuts will hold tight while you tighten them. My only negative is the textured finish is very different from the bumpers and fenders, but once weathered I think it will blend in.
Installed on my 2008 JKU this weekend. The mounting instructions were not entirely accurate. First of all, in order to do a proper job, you will have to remove the bumper. The trim piece between the bumper and the grill needs to be trimmed in order to get the brackets attached to the bumper. In addition, the top nut on the mounting frame is a bear to get into position. I ended up putting a small zip tie around the bolt and lowering it into position. Then inserting the bolt. In the end it all worked out, but it was way way way more than an hour.
I ordered a Mopar light mount. What I received had an OMIX packing list and Rugged Ridge instructions for a mount fitting 07 to 10 Wranglers, so I’m not sure what I received. It’s a pain to return items so I installed it. The tube started to collapse as I tightened the bolts. It’s on there but I’m a bit dissatisfied.
