Reviews for Mopar 77KICK10 Kicker Audio Speaker Upgrade for 05-18 Jeep Wrangler JK, Unlimited JK, Liberty & Grand Cherokee
Nice upgrade to the sound system for not much money. If you're an audiophile you should probably spend more than $60 :-).
The soundbar ones super easy to install, dash ones a little tougher but still doable. Lots of YouTube videos out there for help.
Used these on the sound bar, made a huge difference.
Great speakers, bass much improved and audio stays clear in higher volumes. Install all 4 it’s sound 10 times better than just the 2 in the sound bar.
Some good tunes from these speakers very easy to install
Finally my ears are no longer getting offended every time I hop into my 2017 jku. If you’re considering these then your ears are getting offended too with the stock speakers that arguably should have never ever seen the day of production. Anyways, my install project was a 2 time event. The first time I attempted to get away with a quickie job by installing the speakers without removing the dash speaker boxes and without poly fill (I was able to unscrew the 2 side screws and the top screw just broke off and the speaker popped out. I thought I was the luckiest SOB, popped the new ones in and thought I was done). Well a week or so afterwards my ears were still getting offended, even tho less than before. So I came to the inevitable conclusion that I have to do the job right.
Start with the rears as those are easiest. 12 screws total and the old speakers are out. Fill the box with poly fill and install the new speakers. Rears are done in 20 minutes or less. For the front, you may want to watch a few lousy YouTube videos to at least get a flavor of what you’re in for. I started with the driver’s side which is toughest. Took about an hour to remove the speaker box, fill with poly fill and reinstall. Toughest part is removing the 3rd screw holding the speaker box from the bottom. It almost requires you to peel the cluster gauge trim from the lower dash trim. I found that unhooking the strap to the door helps as it allows the door to swing wider and provide space for unscrewing the boxes from the body frame. Passenger side seemed like a breeze and only took about half hour.
Now I smile as I drive since my ears are delighted with the amazing sound that the factory base radio actually produces. These speakers are amazing. Job done right pays dividends, and allows you to hear the clarity and bass these speakers are able to produce. I had bought a set of replacement tweeters that I am not going to install now since these Kickers are up to the task.
Big improvement from factory speakers. I got a pair for front and sound bar for two door . Plenty of bass .
Best affordable upgrade for the front and rear soundbar speakers. Installation takes about an hour for all four speakers and the sound far surpasses the stock speakers. Paired with the boom mat 6.5 overhead baffle, it creates a nice solid sound in your JK.
The speakers are a huge improvement over the stock paper cones. Just the difference in weight and construction is noticeable. Sound is good. Very rounded out. Added a small powered sub to complete my hidden/stock-looking upgrade. Sound bar is truly plug/play. Dash speakers are a challenge due to the location of the top screw. Stay calm and purchase a 90 degree screwdriver.
Big kick, super loud, makes a big difference even with a factory unit. Plug and play is always the best took me about 45 minutes to do dash and soundbar.
Awesome sound difference
