Reviews for Crown Automotive RT21005 Heavy Duty Steering Kit for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Unlimited & 91-01 Cherokee XJ
Fits stock setup. Just has the heavier duty cross bar.
Works good better than the stock one. Way cheaper than a adjustable one. I have a 4" lift and it works just fine.
Great quality, well made parts.
Quite a bit more stout than the stock drag link and tie rod. The hardware on the adjustment collars leaves a little room for improvement but easily replaced.
Good upgrade.
The parts are a decent replacement feom the factory drag link and tie rod but I have had to replace them every 2 years like clock work the drag link goes out on the passenger side on evertime
If you are looking for stronger than OEM quality steering parts for your cherokee, look elsewhere.
Sure its heavier steel but the rod ends are junk and the boots failed within 6 months. The instructions aren't clear on which rod ends go where so there is some thinking involved. Straight out of the box one of the rod ends was loose and sloppy and I couldn't get the nut tightened, even with an impact gun. I Quadratec couldn't ship me the rod end, they had to send out the ENTIRE kit so I could take the rod end and then ship it all back - quite a pain in the neck.
Here I am 9 months later and 2 of the tie rod boots have rotted and fallen off, two of the rod ends are rusting, and another rod end is spinning and can only be tightened if I rapid fire the impact gun.
This kit is a waste of money, spend it rough country or some other brand.
Not worth your money, tie rod boots rotted out in less than a year. Save the extra money and go with something else.
Worked well after replacing cheap hardware for a few years. Passenger ball joint has completely failed after 35,000 miles. Possibly just defective, everything else was still tight after taking off.
cheap hardware if your looking for a real upgrade don't buy this. It's not as heavy duty as it makes you to believe. Currie and Synergy are way bigger and better.
