Reviews for Daystar Hood Wranglers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
It actually does kept the hood stable. No More fluttering !
Best item ever! Solved the fluttering issue and some frayed nerves! Fastest way to put on is cut off the old rubber and us wire cutters to clip the two plastic pins then you can add the new parts. It will be stiff, I soaked mine e in hot water while taking off the old piece, it didnt soften a lot but enough to get it done. The final hooking down of the hood took a little umph but after unhooking and rehooking it was 'a little' easier.
I think you will be quit happy with this product, we are!
Up in Wisconsin we have a lot of two-lane roads where semis frequently drive. I was tired of the hood flutter -- it would scare the you know what out of me!
I was looking into an affordable, OEM-style solution to this. This hood latch worked perfectly. I did have some trouble getting the old rivet off, but installation after that was a breeze.
With this, you will have no more hood flutter and maintain the OEM look. Very happy!
Coming back from Ouray Colorado to Texas I came through some storms plus 18 wheeler going bye thought my hood on my 2016 Rubicon HR was going to come off because of the fluttering and flopping up and down THIS is a safety issue and should be a recall on these but why wait for 24.00 get it done now ..with these no more fluttering at all STOPPED it … easy install could save a life
Best investment ever! I have pocket style fenders and this is the best fit if you want to lose hood flutter!
Just installed these. Cut the old rubber off with a razor knife, used a Dremel to cut the plastic around the middle of the pins and removed them. That way didn’t have to remove the latches from the body. Really tightened things up!
A huge improvement over the Jeep OEM part. No more hood bounce when tractor trailers fly by, or when driving into head winds at 75mph.
With the OEM dog bone rubber strap the hood flopped at highway speeds. With the Daystar Hood Wranglers that issue was tied down.
These work great, stop hood flutter.
Inside the hood latch, the plastic pin was actually a covering that sits on top of a metal pin. You can saw, rotate, saw, rotate, saw rotate (you get the idea) the plastic covering and then just disassemble when the entire latch is connecting to the jeep. I have on 08' JK.
Feels great to have something much sturdier and something affordable.
